The Centre for Musical Research, brings together the work of our staff and postgraduate students to create a supportive environment for the development of research within the Department of Music. It organises a series of research fora and performance events, drawing on work undertaken by its members, and visiting researchers and practitioners. It co-ordinates research activity within the Department, from individual work to large scale projects. In the recent Research Assessment Exercise, 80% of the work submitted in Music was recognised internationally in terms of originality, significance and rigour, with 10% judged as being world-leading.
The Centre for Musical Research is based at the Newton Park campus, as well as Corsham Court, BSU’s Centre for Research and Postgraduate Study.
